nerd the bitcoin mining groups have probably increased exponentially since then

back in the early days you could get a few btc a day because mining pools were so few and far between now there's thousands

unless your in a pool it's a zillion times more profitable to just buy a bunch from mtgox or whatever and then ride the wave
